It is an environmentally safe, non-toxic material that will not harm people, animals, plants, soils, or surface and ground water.

Mode of Action

Rather than being a perfume to cover the odor, ODOR-X attacks the root source of the odors: odor-causing compounds that result from the anaerobic oxidative activites of microoganisms which break down organic compounds in the absence of oxygen. These compounds include the following:

• Sulphides ( R-S-R’ )
• Mercaptans ( R-SH )
• Sulphur dioxide ( S02 )
• Aldehydes ( R-CHO )
• Amines (R-NH2 )
• Phenols (ring hydrocarbo-OH )

ODOR-X stimulates the microbes that break down these odor-generating compounds to work harder. These organisms attack and degrade these compounds, usually within minutes or hours, and continue this degradation over a period of several days or weeks. In time the active agents — metabolic stimulators of microbes — need to be replenished. Overall effects of ODOR-X use are as follows:

• Acceleration in breakdown of manure, vegetable waste, and other organic materials

How to Use ODOR-X

Poultry, cattle, and swine barns.

Dilute one part ODOR-X concentrate in 10 parts of water, and spray on the walls, ceilings, and floors of the barn. Repeat periodically as needed.

Manure pits, lagoons, and sewage treatment facilities

Mix not less than 15 parts per million (ppm) of ODOR-X in the contents of waste liquid (see table).

Septic tanks

Pour one cup of ODOR-X down drain every month.
