
Juan Carlos Diaz
Juan is an Agronomist and Doctor in Agricultural Sciences. He completed six years of elementary school in the United States at Incarnation Catholic School in New York. Later, Juan graduated as an agricultural technician from the “Alvaro Reynoso” Agricultural Technical Institute in Matanzas, Cuba, then earned my Agronomist degree from the University of Havana. I later obtained my Doctorate in Agricultural Sciences (Ph.D.) from the Academy of Science of Cuba.
For 46 years, Juan worked as a senior researcher specializing in weed science, ripening, and growth regulation at the National Sugarcane Research Institute (INICA) of Cuba. During this time, he headed the Agronomy Department, served as a member and vice-president of the Doctorate in Agricultural Sciences (Ph.D.) Tribunal of Cuba, and was the founder and president of the Cuban Weed Science Society. Juan also served as president of the Latin American Weed Science Association (ALAM).
Since 2011, Juan has worked as the LATAM Technical Director for Ag Biotech Inc. He has a good command of the English language and a basic understanding of Russian and French.
