As the 2024 growing season progresses across New York State, Ag Biotech, Inc. is excited to
share early results from our ongoing field trials across a variety of crops. These trials are
demonstrating the potential of our biostimulant products, Bio Shot and Bio Seed, to enhance
crop performance, resilience, and ultimately, yield.
The Science Behind Biostimulants
At the heart of our approach are two key biostimulant categories:
1. Our flagship product, Bio Shot, is a highly concentrated foliar biostimulant containing
two powerful PGRs: triacontanol and brassinosteroids. These natural compounds work
within the plant to:
○ Triacontanol: This fatty alcohol stimulates photosynthesis, the process by which
plants convert sunlight into energy. Increased photosynthesis leads to improved
growth, development, and ultimately, higher yields.
○ Brassinosteroids: These steroid hormones promote cell elongation and division,
contributing to increased biomass and overall plant vigor. They also enhance
stress tolerance, helping crops withstand environmental challenges.
2. Inoculant Biofertilizers: Bio Seed is a microbial inoculant designed to improve soil
fertility and plant nutrition by introducing beneficial bacteria and fungi to the root zone.
These microbes help:
○ Fix nitrogen: Making this crucial nutrient more available to the plant.
○ Mobilize phosphorus: Utilizing this nutrient right at the root hairs.
○ Release potassium: Freeing this essential element from the soil.
○ Expanding the root zone: Enhancing the overall health and balance of the soil
ecosystem with Trichoderma species.
Field Trial Highlights
Our field trials are taking place across a diverse range of New York crops, including:
● Alfalfa: Increased chlorophyll content and accelerated regrowth after cutting.
● Corn: Improved root development and early-season vigor.
● Soybeans: Enhanced plant height and chlorophyll content.
● Squash: Increased fruit set and size.
● Onions: Improved bulb size and uniformity.
● Apples: Enhanced fruit quality and storage potential.
In many cases, we are seeing statistically significant improvements in crop performance
compared to untreated controls. For example, preliminary chlorophyll readings in corn are
showing a 15% increase in treated plants, while sap analysis in apples is indicating higher levels
of key nutrients like potassium and calcium.
What This Means for New York Farmers
These early results are incredibly encouraging and reinforce the potential for biostimulants to
play a vital role in sustainable agriculture. By harnessing the power of natural plant processes
and beneficial microbes, we can help farmers:
● Maximize yield: Increase crop production while maintaining quality.
● Improve resilience: Help crops withstand environmental stressors.
● Enhance sustainability: Reduce reliance on synthetic inputs.
● Boost profitability: Improve return on investment through higher yields and lower input
costs.
Stay Tuned!
We are excited to continue monitoring our field trials throughout the growing season and look
forward to sharing more detailed results as they become available. In the meantime, if you are a
New York grower interested in learning more about how Bio Shot and Bio Seed can benefit your
operation, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
